What ZEROBiE is

ZEROBiE is a browser-based platform for building models in the open IFC format. You upload an IFC file once; it is converted on the server, and from then on you open it in the 3D viewer, check it, and manage it with your team in a browser that supports the viewer. There is nothing to install.

The main workspace has six parts. Projects and their Files are the common data environment, where models and documents are stored, versioned and moved through their states. The viewer opens a model in 3D. Assure checks a model's quality and its IFC validity. The IDS Ruler lets you write and run your own requirements. The dashboard shows where a project stands. Parcel Custody is a preview for issuing a bounded part of a master model and reviewing a returned file; read its preview guide before using it for handover. Ask ZI provides guide help and optional, limited project-data answers.

Finding your way around

The rail on the left always lists Dashboard, Projects, Files, Assure, Parcel Custody and IDS Ruler. When no project is open, Files, Assure and Parcel Custody ask you to choose one first. The button at the left of the top bar collapses and expands the rail; the choice is remembered for your account in this browser.

The top bar shows the name of the page you are on. On its right are the project picker, which names the current project and lets you choose another, the control to open the page in a new tab, and fullscreen. Your account menu and theme switch are at the foot of the left panel. ZI floats at the bottom right.

Signing in takes you to the dashboard.

Asking a question

Press ZI at the bottom right of a page, type a question about how to do something, and press Enter. Shift and Enter together start a new line.

In guide mode, answers come from this user guide. Under each answer, From the guide lists the sections it rests on; open one to read the passage it was taken from. If the guide does not cover your question, the assistant says so and does not guess, and the question is noted so the guide can be improved. A noted question is kept for 90 days and then deleted. It answers questions about using ZEROBiE and, when enabled, the selected project snapshot.

The assistant is told which part of ZEROBiE you are in, such as Files or Assure, so you can ask about what is in front of you. Guide mode does not read project data. The conversation is not kept: it ends when you close the tab or move between the Dashboard, Projects and the IDS Ruler. Clear starts a new one.

Asking about a project's data

Guide mode does not read project data. On a project page, enable Use this project's data to send Anthropic a limited read-only snapshot of model names and summaries, stored analysis counts and your authorized workflow queue. Project answers quote verified snapshot passages; they do not edit the project, inspect raw IFC or search arbitrary elements. On an element-history page, or in the 3D viewer with an element selected, the snapshot also includes that Object ID, recorded identity and name, historical/current finding counts and up to five current finding titles, IDs, severities and statuses. It describes the requested identity; an alias target is not automatically read. The snapshot also carries that element's recorded attributes, property values and quantities, read from its recorded version while the project still holds that model, with any governed change applied in this project shown in place of the extracted value. At most twelve property and quantity sets are listed, with at most twelve entries each, and the ones your question names come first; the object's source opens its property passages with a summary that says whether the listing is complete or partial, and whether properties inherited from the element's type are established as included. A property that is not listed in a partial listing is not reported as missing. The identifier fields themselves, the IFC ID and the authoring tool's identifier, are not included, though a name or a property value contains whatever its author wrote in it. Missing evidence is stated instead of guessed. Raw files and geometry are not sent. Switching project, model or object clears the conversation and resets this choice. Project questions are not stored in the guide worklist.

Asking about a model's elements

Where model search is enabled, a project page with a model selected lets you ask about that model's elements once Use this project's data is on. The assistant reads the question as a search: a class such as doors or walls, optionally a property those elements carry, and optionally one of its recorded values. Examples are How many doors are there, Which walls are external, Which doors have no fire rating, and Which coverings have a renovation status of Existing. The answer's source states how the question was read and the exact number of elements that match, then lists up to eight of them with their Object IDs; open one to go to that element's history.

The search reads only plain questions. If a question contains a condition it cannot read, such as a level, a location or a comparison, it gives no count and says the snapshot does not answer, so that a count for a different question is never shown. Counts come from the values recorded when the model was converted; a governed change made in this project is shown on a listed element and is not included in the count. A count of elements that do not carry a property says how many records could not be read or were not fully extracted. A property with very many different values, such as an identifier, cannot be searched by value. Matching elements' names and the matched values are sent to Anthropic for that question; the count and the sample are the whole of what is sent about them.

When an object citation has a viewable recorded version in a current project model, open its source and choose View object version to select that element in the 3D Viewer. The version number labels the recorded object version. A missing or shapeless element has no viewer action. The link does not approve a finding, parcel return or master revision.

From an IFC file to a checked model

Create a project on the Projects page. On its Files page, add an IFC file from the Add menu or by dragging it onto the page, and wait for the conversion to finish. Open the model to see it in the viewer.

Then open Assure for the project, choose the model and press Run Analysis. When the analysis completes, Assure lists what it found, and the dashboard's answer line, score ring and cards reflect the result.
